Braces
Braces use a combination of brackets, bands, and wires to gradually reposition your teeth into their desired positions over time.
Braces may all look the same to you but there are different braces based on the material used to make them and the purpose they serve. At Dr. Sunny Medical Centre we provide a variety of braces to choose from depending on age, personal preferences and severity of tooth misalignment.
Metal & Ceramic braces: Metallic braces have been traditionally used by orthodontists to reposition crowded, gapped teeth or for that matter any kind of misaligned teeth. Ceramic braces use tooth-colored brackets that are less visible.
Invisalign: If you want to straighten your teeth without the inconvenience of wires & brackets you can opt for Invisalign. They are removable, clear, and less noticeable.
Self-ligating braces: Unlike traditional braces which use elastic ties or metal wires to secure the arch wire, self-ligating braces use a built-in mechanism in the bracket to hold the arch wire in place. If you choose self-ligating braces your orthodontist appointments will become shorter. It would be easier to clean and cause less discomfort when you talk or chew.
Myobrace: Myobraces are basically preventive braces used in children to ensure that their teeth do not misalign. These braces can prevent jaw deformations in children. These braces are composed of soft medical grade silicone.
Aligners: Some individuals abandon orthodontic treatment because they don’t want to deal with visible braces. For such people there is a more discreet way to straighten their teeth, known as aligners.
Retainers: Once the braces are off, you need to make sure that all the hard work of your orthodontist to straighten your smile doesn’t go down the drain. For this you need to make use of the retainer. It is a custom-made device you wear over your teeth to help the teeth remain in the same position.
