It commonly starts in childhood and early adolescence and remains well into adulthood. There is a genetic predisposition to this condition. Although this isn’t a life-threatening condition, it has a great emotional and social impact because of the inconvenience and embarrassment caused. All areas of the body can be involved but palms, soles and underarms are the most commonly affected areas.
The doctor may request a few lab tests to rule out conditions like Thyroid dysfunction and Diabetes.
Treatment options are limited and mostly temporary.
